This year's July 4th parade was a heck of a great time! Children rode their bikes, neighbors walked their dogs, and we all enjoyed the food and games at the picnic!Click on the picture to view slideshow.

Tanbark Association of Neighbors (TAN)
Welcome to Tanbark's neighborhood blog. Our neighborhood is a welcoming and caring place, located at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Man O’War Boulevard. We are made up of families, couples, and singles; retirees and those working hard in their chosen fields; there are plenty of kids, cats, and especially dogs (good dogs!). In 2008, the home of Debbie and John Wagner on Tanbark Road received national attention when it won the Today Show's "Most Spirited Home" Halloween Decorating Contest. That festive spirit permeates Tanbark.
In August of each year we have a parade and a picnic, complete with an intergenerational balloon toss, and other events throughout the year include a Progressive Dinner and our Annual Meeting.
We strive to keep our neighborhood beautiful, with seasonal flowers atop the mailboxes, and fresh plantings at its entrance. In a time and a world where everyone is so busy, our neighbors sincerely care about each other, making it not only a neighborhood, but a community.

TANBARK MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of this organization, Tanbark Association of Neighbors (TAN), is to provide charitable, civic, educational and social activities for its members. Additional activities should focus on neighborhood improvements that wil maintain and increase the property values and quality of life for all the homeowners in Tanbark neighborhood.
The mission of the officers and Directors of TAN should be to inform the members of current issues that may impact this neighborhood, to encourage all homeowners who are members of TAN to participate in neighborhood activities, and to work cooperatively as a Board to resolve problems and make governing decisions that will be in the best interest of the entire neighborhood.
