Before we were called to order, the Rev. Bennie Braddick of Twin Pines Christian Church gave us an update on the Church’s construction progress to date. The completion date goal is around the first of June, weather permitting. She requested our permission to a bag to welcome and announce the church’s Open House when the addition is completed. We approved this request.
The TAN Board of Directors meeting was called to order by President Gordon Huffer at Twin Pines Christian Church. Members present were Zoya Orlov, John Irvin, David Carpenter, Becky Ray, and Phyllis Peters.

Committee Reports-
Landscape & Maintenance Committee:
The TAN Garden Club meeting minutes were reviewed and discussed. We have some drainage issues. David Carpenter will contact Jane Dreidane about someone she knows, cleaning out the flume. Gordon discussed another site-the catch basin to the right of the Tates Creek Rd. entrance to Tanbark. Marge Leinbach needed some supplies for our clean up date that Gordon went ahead and approved for Saturday’s Spring Clean Up.
Other related business about Landscaping issues of mowing, weeding and mulching, etc . were discussed. The Board agreed to go with Greenakers Lawn Service for this year. It cost 85$ to start up our backflow in the spring. We also will prompt Chad Dicken for a full bid to be considered for next year’s bid process.
We have a dead tree at the Tates Creek entrance. Becky moved and David seconded and the Board approved a bid for removal. We will pay Lexington Tree Service $375 to remove and clear the dead tree behind the South Wall at the Tates Creek Entrance.
Lawn Maintenance-It was moved and approved that we accept the bid of $268.95 from Trugreen to service our entrance areas for preemergent, fertilizer, broadleaf control etc.
Other committees were discussed. This year we did not have the popular Progressive Dinner but hope to have plans in place for next year to continue this.
Gordon will get the committee sign up lists to us so we can better get the committees rolling.
Becky Ray is on the Welcoming Committee and needs the names of others who are interested.
The Newsletter is now on our website. Kudos to Zoya Orlov for our wonderful TANBARK website.
Hopefully some time in the future, TAN will be featured in Southsider Magazine.
It was suggested that the neighborhood yard sale and the Twin Pines Church yard sale be held on the same date. We will check into this.
