The TAN bark Neighborhood Association Board met on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Twin Pines Christian Church. The Board accepted President Gordon Huffer’s resignation for health issues, with regret. We appreciate his service as President. Vice President John Irvin has assumed the President role and presided over the meeting.
Board members in attendance: John Irvin, Lenora Gusler, Zoya Orlov, Phyllis Peters, David Carpenter
Guests: John Thompson of Twin Pines Christian Church Building Committee was present briefly.
The meeting was called to order at 7:05. The Minutes of the June 8, 2009 Special Called Meeting were reviewed and approved with the correction of Tim Koch’s name. The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Lenora. We have a cash balance of $9,228.64 on hand. Lenora also updated us on membership. Reminder notices have been sent to the 64 homes in Tanbark who had not yet paid their 2009 dues.
We had many THANKS to cite to our TAN neighborhood members.
Thanks to Lenora Gusler for chairing a wonderful Red, White and Blue neighborhood parade and pot luck supper on July 11th. Over 100+ people attended and it was one of our best ones yet!
A special thanks to Tim and Barbara Ashburn for allowing us to use their lovely lot for the festivities.
Thanks to Alex Orlov for again taking amazing pictures of the festivities and quickly posting them on our web site for everyone to view. We are fortunate to have such a excellent photographer/member who shares his talents with his TANbark neighbors.
Our flower boxes look exceptionally nice this year. Thanks to Nancy Frederick for taking care of all the flowers on the mailboxes in TANbark.
Thanks again to Zoya Orlov for the beautiful TANbark web site. This is our first year for this web site and all minutes and treasurer’s reports can be accessed as well as information on special events etc. You may want to mark it as a favorite for quick access/notice.
Committee Reports- Phyllis Peters gave an update on planning for the Annual Meeting. It will be on Saturday night, September 12, 2009 at 6:00 in the new addition at Twin Pines Christian Church. John Thompson gave the Board a tour of the new facilities and the specific area which was spacious and beautiful! The committee (Phyllis Peters, Marsha Strein, and Vickie Robertson) will be working on more specific details. The dinner will be catered, there will be door prizes and invitations will be going out to all TANbark members soon. Please mark your calendars.
We will be installing new Board members at our September 12th Annual Meeting. If anyone is interested in serving or knows others who would be interested, please let current TAN Board members know of their interest since they are acting as the Nominating committee.
David Carpenter reported/updated us on the detention basin collecting debris issue. There is also a stilling basin and a detention basin. David had talked again with Tim Koch, urban county government contact . A repair should be made on the detention basin near Linda Little and Dave Frederich’s home by the end of August.
The TANbark Board would like to remind everyone in the TANbark neighborhood association that all Board meetings are open to the public . We have been holding the meetings at Twin Pines Christian Church because there is more space for the public/ guests. The church is a member of the TANbark neighborhood organization. We invite you to attend and welcome your input . We will even remind you of upcoming Board meetings. You are also able to leave concerns, comments on the TAN website and we will get back with you as soon as possible.
David made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Zoya seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
Respectfully submitted,
Phyllis Peters, Secretary
