The TAN Board of Directors met at Twin Pines Christian Church on April 27th at 7:30 p.m. David Carpenter called the meeting to order and Lenora Gusler and Phyllis Peters were in attendance.
The agenda began with Lenora giving the Treasurer’s Report. We have a balance of $12,549.81 in our account with 8,760.00 coming from 2010 dues. We need 10 more households to pay their dues to equal last year’s dues payments. This report was presented and approved.
Total Income 8764.99
Total Expenses 2170.40
Overall Total 6594.59
Beginning cash balance 5955.22
Net Change 6594.59
Ending Cash balance 12,549.81
Phyllis will resend out the 1/31/10 minutes from the last meeting at John Irvin’s house.
Old Business:
We discussed the Fourth of July, Red, White and Blue parade and picnic and our Annual Dinner Meeting. An open invitation to join any of our committees is extended to any TAN member. The committees are Welcome Committee, Newsletter Committee, Red, White and Blue Committee, Annual Dinner Committee, and Garden Club.
The next Board meeting will be June 1st, 2010 and one of the main items of business will be the Red, White and Blue picnic.
New Business:
We will look into a social for early summer, perhaps a lunch get together at some special place.
The Spring Clean-Up was held on Saturday, April 24th 2010 from 10:00-2:00. Individuals who helped weed and trim the Tanbark entrances: Linda Little, Mari Case, Missy and Bill Burke, Mel and Vickie Robertson, Marge Leinbach and Lenora Gusler. A special thanks to all of them for giving their time and hard work.
A motion was made and passed to replace a crabapple tree that had died in our Tanbark entrance in honor of the late Tom Leinbach. Marge has done so much for TAN as the chair of our Garden Club. The Garden Club has also suggested that we plant some spring bulbs at the Tates Creek Tanbark entrance. Phyllis made this a motion that was seconded and approved.
We welcome new residents to our neighborhood, Mike and Kathy Summers. He is a new assistant UK football coach and they are renting John and Diane Irvin’s house. The Irvin’s moved over Spring Break to downtown on Second St. We will give him a small gift card for his service as TAN President.
The next item of new business was the Maintenance Contract and Irrigation System for our neighborhood. Bids were received from GreenAkers lawn care and ProCut lawn care. The ProCut bid did not have the irrigation system bid so Lenora will contact them about that part. Pending the clarification for the irrigation, the board moved to go with the lowest bid for our mowing, landscaping and irrigating maintenance so we can quickly get this activated.
David brought up the January 2010 ice storm. A car slid into our plantings at the Man O’War and Crosby entrance. We will investigate further.

Board Members:
Steve Whyte will be joining the Board in mid-year and Marge Leinbach is willing to assist the board ad hoc for the short term. Thanks to both of them for their service and help.
Phyllis made a motion that was seconded by Lenora that we adjourn our meeting. We adjourned at 8:09.
Reminder: Our next TAN Board meeting will be Tuesday, June 1st at 7:30 at Twin Pines Christian Church.

Respectfully submitted,

Phyllis Peters, Recording Secretary
