Mark your 2014 calendar with these dates: Watch for further details and mail box flyers for these events. APRIL 12 Clean-Up day. A chance to come together and get our entrances ready for Spring. If the 12th doesn’t work because of weather we will meet on the 26th May 17th We will sponsor a neighborhood wide Garage Sale. If you want to have a garage sale, this is a great time to do it as many people will be in the neighborhood looking for bargins. AUG. 23rd we will have our Back to School parade and picnic. This is a very popular event for our families with lots of food, games and fun. OCT. 18th we will have a Progressive Dinner. (If you would like to help with the planning of this dinner, please let us know. tanbark.lexington@gmail.com. Also, our TAN board meetings are open to all and will be on the 1st Monday of April, July, October and December. We meet at 4117 Heartwood Rd. at 7pm unless otherwise posted.

Tanbark Association of Neighbors (TAN)

Welcome to Tanbark's neighborhood blog. Our neighborhood is a welcoming and caring place, located at the intersection of Tates Creek Road and Man O’War Boulevard. We are made up of families, couples, and singles; retirees and those working hard in their chosen fields; there are plenty of kids, cats, and especially dogs (good dogs!). In 2008, the home of Debbie and John Wagner on Tanbark Road received national attention when it won the Today Show's "Most Spirited Home" Halloween Decorating Contest. That festive spirit permeates Tanbark.

In August of each year we have a parade and a picnic, complete with an intergenerational balloon toss, and other events throughout the year include a Progressive Dinner and our Annual Meeting.

We strive to keep our neighborhood beautiful, with seasonal flowers atop the mailboxes, and fresh plantings at its entrance. In a time and a world where everyone is so busy, our neighbors sincerely care about each other, making it not only a neighborhood, but a community.

TANBARK MISSION STATEMENT

The purpose of this organization, Tanbark Association of Neighbors (TAN), is to provide charitable, civic, educational and social activities for its members. Additional activities should focus on neighborhood improvements that wil maintain and increase the property values and quality of life for all the homeowners in Tanbark neighborhood.

The mission of the officers and Directors of TAN should be to inform the members of current issues that may impact this neighborhood, to encourage all homeowners who are members of TAN to participate in neighborhood activities, and to work cooperatively as a Board to resolve problems and make governing decisions that will be in the best interest of the entire neighborhood.
