TANBARK ASSOCIATION OF NEIGHBORS
BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETING
January 11, 2011

The TAN Board of Directors met at Twin Pines Christian Church on January 11, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. Lenora Gusler called the meeting to order with board members David Carpenter, Maria Pennigton and Zoya Orlov present. Guest Coleman Gusler was also in attendance. Board members Tom Ralson, Linda Little and Steve Whyte were not available.
The Secretary’s Report from the October 26, 2010 meeting was approved as written. Lenora will send the file to Zoya electronically so that the minutes can be added to the TAN website.
The Treasurer’s Report was presented by Lenora Gusler; a copy is attached. There is a balance of $7,730.13 in our account. The Treasurer’s Report was approved.

Old Business:
Common Area Issues
The irrigation system has been winterized.
300 daffodil bulbs were planted at the Tates Creek entrance by the Garden Club.
The tree to be planted at the Tates Creek entrance in Tom Leinbach’s memory has been tabled until spring. There is $100 allocated from the TAN Treasury towards the expense. Marge Leinbarch has offered to pay the balance.
The professional landscaper’s evaluation on the Tates Creek entrance has been also tabled until spring.
New Business:
2011 Dues Statements
The statements were reviewed, updated to include mention of the annual meeting and approved. They will be mailed in January.
A motion was made and passed to offer an incentive for prompt payment of dues. A drawing will be held for all homes paid in full or postmarked by 2/14/11. The incentive award will be a $25 gift certificate to Cheddars Restaurant.
A newsletter will be included with the dues statements. Items to covered in the newsletter include the planting of the daffodil bulbs, dues statements and the drawing for the gift certificate, a business card from one or two neighbors, and safety or energy suggestions. Maria will provide an easy, short recipe to include in the newsletter.

Brick/Mortar work on Mailboxes – tabled until the next meeting.

Care Committee Update -
In memory of Ted Estes, a $25 donation was made to the Lexington Fraternal Order of Firefighters for their Toy Drive fund. Flowers were also delivered to the family.
In memory of Phyllis Bergquest (Ginny Bowles’ mom), a ham dinner was provided for the family. Flowers were also delivered.
In memory of Dave Frederich, a $50 donation will be made to Trinity United Methodist Church.

Other
The next meeting should be held in time to discuss landscape maintenance. Bids should be obtained again this year.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
The next board meeting is scheduled for March 15, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Twin Pines.
